Adult Training Facility (A.T.F)

The ATF provides a vast amount of opportunities for individuals to choose from and engage in. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Community Service
    • Meals on Wheels
    • Fayette Friends of Animals, etc.
  • Activities of Daily Living
    • Laundry Skills
    • Personal Hygiene, etc.
  • Vocational
    • Employment Skills, etc.
    • Communication
    • Sign Language

    • Money Skills, etc.
  • Physical Development
    • Low-impact aerobics, etc.
  • Socialization
    • Community Integration, etc.
  • Leisure
    • Gardening, etc.

Meals on Wheels

Are provided to all individuals. Menus are provided on a monthly basis. Staff prepare meals in accordance to special dietary needs, such as chopped/pureed diets and restricted foods. Individuals may choose to work and/or eat in the colorful snack bar. The lunch program and actual eating area is licensed by the PA Department of Agriculture.

TRANSPORTATION:

A wheelchair van is available to those with physical challenges. Aides accompany van drivers to ensure safety and assist individuals on and off the vans. Vans are available to ATF staff to transport individuals on community outings.

ATF STAFF:

Staff at the ARC have many years of experience working with people with disabilities. This experience allows for a good work rapport with the individuals. Many close relationships are formed during time spent at the ATF. Staff are trained in First Aid/CPR and also attend various conferences/workshops annually to attain knowledge in areas of specialties, such as, Activities for Aging, Positive Approaches, and others too numerous to mention.  

NURSING:

LPN’s are on staff to meet the health/medical needs of individuals attending the ATF Nursing services provide expertise in such areas as: staff certification in First Aid/CPR, medical intake and administration, colostomy/catheter care, range of motion exercise, and other medical needs/emergencies that would occur.

SUPPORT STAFF:

Each individual is assigned a support staff person. Support staff serve as an important link between individuals, families, staff, and residential providers. Support staff provide personal services to senior citizens and work closely with the Department of Aging.
