Transportation
ARC works closely in coordinating transportation for eligible individuals through the county Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program Office, Community Action, F.A.C.T ( Fayette Area Coordinated Transportation), Goodwill etc. Drivers are trained in CPRE and First Aid, and many of them have years of experience with the agency. Individuals are transported throughout Fayette County using passenger and wheelchair accessible vans. Between scheduled trips, vans are used for a variety of activities including such things as community trips, Meals On Wheels, as well as some medical appointments, etc. Vehicles are kept up to all rules and regulations as stated by vehicle codes. Preventative maintenance is done by factory trained staff located at dealerships in Fayette County.
Social Services
The social services department is an integral part of ARC of its various programs. Caseworkers provide a vital link between individuals, families, staff, and residential providers. The caseworkers provide personal services to senior citizens and work closely with the Department of Aging. Caseworkers assist in providing contracted services to eligible children and their families referred through Fayette County Children & Youth.
Food Service
ARC participates in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. The cost of lunches is based on the income eligibility guidelines for free and reduced price meals. For those not eligible for free or reduced pricing, lunches can be bought at full cost. The Food Service program is licensed under the Department of Health and falls under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture. Nutritious lunches are preparation of lunches, as well as the delivery. This service also works closely with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as a transitional employment site for those individuals interested in obtaining employment in the food industry.
Medical Services
ARC offers nursing services to all enrolled with ARC. The nursing staff works closely with the families and residential provider agencies to monitor the medical needs, current medications and treatments, and compiling and updating lifetime medical histories on each ATF and Home based Waiver individual. The ARC medical coordinator also provides CPR and First Aid training to the ARC staff and others in the community as well as OSHA training. First Aid training and CPR are also offered to those who receive services through ARC. The ARC also offers medication administration training to all appropriate staff.
