The Merlin Arc Fayette Scholarship

The Arc Fayette is proud to announce the launch of The Merlin Arc Fayette Scholarship, a new initiative aimed at supporting the next generation of professionals dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This scholarship will provide $2,000 financial assistance to students pursuing careers in fields that  directly impact the lives of individuals with IDD, including special education, therapy, social work, and other related professions.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Fayette County, PA or within a 30-miles radius.
  • Have been enrolled for at least one semester prior to applying.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Be pursuing a degree online or in-person in a field related to Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD): Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Disability Studies, Early Childhood Education, or related fields.
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement, a strong personal commitment to the IDD community, and a demonstrated passion for making a positive impact. Applicants will submit a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and undergo a thorough review process by a selection committee. Dates to Remember

  • Scholarship Application Cycle: July 1 – September 30: Online application cycle opens.
  • Review and Selection Process: October 1 – October 21: Applications review and selection.
  • Announcement of Awardee(s): By October 30: The awardee(s) of the scholarship and educational institution(s) will be notified. Funds will be disbursed directly to the recipients’ educational institutions.
