The Arc of Fayette County believes that everyone should be afforded the opportunity to obtain employment in the community. We help work with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to explore, apply for, and work in competitive jobs in community settings with the necessary support to be successful.

The Supported Employment program makes it possible for people with varying levels of disabilities to become active, wage-earning members of the workforce by generating positive employment opportunities and providing ongoing support. This assistance, whether intensive or transitional, may include a job coach that can help the individual choose, secure, and retain employment.
Why Supported Employment?
Hiring individuals with disabilities offers numerous benefits to businesses.

By promoting inclusivity, businesses foster a positive and supportive work environment for all employees.

Businesses that hire individuals with disabilities may be eligible for tax credits, offering a financial incentive while also making a positive impact on the lives of others.

With a more inclusive workplace, employees are encouraged to bring their best selves to work, fostering a sense of belonging that leads to lower turnover and a more stable, engaged workforce.
PAES Lab
The PAES lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System Lab) is a work-based learning environment that helps individuals assess their work skills and interests.
The PAES lab assists individuals with developing work skills, determining their level of employability, and identifying areas needing improvement. This can help alleviate barriers to successful employment and job retention.
Job Coaching and Support
A job coach assists each program participant with on-the-job training to develop positive work habits, learn necessary skills, and perform the assigned work to the expectation of the employer.
Businesses and Partners
Our Employment Specialists work closely network with community businesses, and work closely with employers, and job coaches to make each job a positive learning experience and an opportunity to further their independence in the workplace.
The Arc Fayette would like to thank the following area employers for offering employment to our individuals.
